Green Your Lifestyle

The Sacramento Region is full of resources to help you conserve energy and live a more sustainable lifestyle. Local utilities are great place to start– calculate your carbon footprint, learn about renewable energy, and find ways to save money and energy with PG&E, SMUD, and Roseville Electric.

Energy Efficiency Upgrades

Energy Upgrade California is a new statewide program that helps homeowners reduce energy use through home improvements. The program takes a ‘whole house’ approach to energy efficiency, ensuring that heating, air conditioning, insulation, water and other systems all work together effectively.

Energy Upgrade California connects homeowners to qualified contractors, and identifies available rebates and incentives. For example, SMUD’s Home Performance Program is currently offering up to $9,000 in rebates, and the Cash for Comfort program provides 0% loans and grants for energy upgrades. Opt-in for Renewable Energy

You don’t necessarily need solar panels on your rooftop to invest in renewable energy. By signing up for programs such as Roseville Electric’s Green Roseville, PG&E’s ClimateStart, or SMUD’s Greenergy, you can purchase wind, solar, and water power through your monthly utility bill.
