Your local utilities do tremendous work helping businesses go green. SMUD, PG&E, and Roseville Electric offer energy efficiency tips, rebates, and information on renewable energy programs online.
The Sacramento Area Sustainable Business Program promotes businesses that take voluntary action towards sustainability in the greater Sacramento Region. The program recognizes green building practices, efforts to conserve energy and reduce pollution. 
Participating businesses are given a sustainability recognition display sign, and receive free advertising on the program website and newsletter.
The Sacramento Metro Air Quality Management District also offers incentives to help business reduce their carbon footprint. The District helps pay for newer, cleaner engines in efforts to reduce air emissions, improve air quality locally, and to help the state meet federally mandated clean-air milestones.
